About Bennett
Belinda Bennett is Professor of Health and Medical Law at the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney, Deputy Editor of the Journal of Law and Medicine and a member of the International Editorial Board of the International Journal of Law in Context. Between 2005 and 2009, she was Director of the Law School Centre for Health Governance, Law and Ethics. She is an elected Fellow of the University of Sydney Senate and a member of the University’s Academic Board.
Her research interests include legal issues related to new technologies and health care. She is a member of the Medical Council of NSW and a member of the Medical Board of Australia.
Reid
About Reid
Alison Reid, Medical Director of the Medical Council of NSW, is involved in all aspects of the Council’s work. She overseas the Council’s health and performance programs and is responsible for the initial assessment of complaints.
Alison is a medical graduate of the University of Tasmania. She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of NSW and is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. Prior to her current appointment with the Council, Alison spent six years as chief executive of the 1,400-bed Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong, and was Associate Professor of Community Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before that, she was Director of State-Wide Health Services and Director of Public Health in Tasmania.
