 nWith more than 30 years’ experience in the Medical Devices industry\, i
 ncluding 20 years at Johnson &amp\; Johnson\, Gavin has an extensive backg
 round as a senior commercial and executive manager in the Asia Pacific reg
 ion. Currently Chair of the Medical Devices industry body – the Medical 
 Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) – Gavin is helping to shape i
 ndustry dialogue with Government and ensure stable and beneficial policy s
 ettings for the industry\, customers and patients into the future.\n\nGavi
 n has a strong record of leading organisational growth\, change and transf
 ormation\; and is well known for his track record of developing and export
 ing outstanding leaders\, and ensuring a truly diverse and inclusive workf
 orce.\n\nGavin’s philosophy of collaboration and service extends to comm
 unity. He is a passionate advocate for efforts that improve health\, liter
 acy and education\, particularly for Indigenous communities.\n\nGavin is a
  Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce\, a member of the Male Champ
 ions of Change (MCC) in STEM and an ambassador for Bowel Cancer Australia 
 and Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC). He also leads the Mac
 quarie Business Park Coalition bringing together local businesses – incl
 uding Johnson &amp\; Johnson – to support projects aimed at improving yo
 uth literacy\, school retention and readiness for work.[/vc_column_text][/
 vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hugh Dillon is an Ad
 junct Professor at the UNSW Law School.\n\nHe retired as a Deputy State Co
 roner and magistrate at the end of 2016. He was appointed a magistrate in 
 1996 and Deputy State Coroner in 2008 and conducted a number of high profi
 le inquests and fire inquiries. Before his appointment as a magistrate\, h
 e practised law with the New South Wales Council of Social Service\, the N
 ew South Wales Ombudsman’s Office and the Commonwealth DPP. He was a mem
 ber of the National Judicial College of Australia’s Programmes Advisory 
 Committee 2007-2017. He was a 2014 Churchill Fellow – his project being 
 to develop ideas for raising coronial performance standards. He is co-auth
 or of Waller’s Coronial Law and Practice in New South Wales (4th ed\, 20
 10)\, The Australasian Coroner’s Manual (2015) and editor of Advocacy an
 d Judging: Selected Papers of Murray Gleeson (2017).[/vc_column_text][/vc_
 column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dr Penny Browne (MBBS\,
  MRCGP\, FRACGP\, MHL). Dr Penny Browne was appointed to the Chief Medical
  Officer role at Avant in January 2015. The role is an advisor to the CEO 
 and Senior Management Team on all clinical matters as well as leading the 
 team that advocates for Avant members\, to drive change in the medico lega
 l environment.\n\nShe spends three days a week in this role at Avant and t
 wo days as a Senior Staff Specialist in General Practice at Hornsby Hospit
 al in NSW. Through her career Penny has worked extensively in the area of 
 General Practice education with GP registrars\, junior doctors and medical
  students.\n\nPenny first developed her medico-legal interest through her 
 membership of the Medical Experts Committee at Avant in 2000. Since then s
 he has completed a Masters in Health Law at Sydney University and worked p
 art time as a Senior Medical Advisor supporting doctors with complaints an
 d claims from 2008.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
